MEDIA ALERT
Become a Fabulous Woman in Property!
Bringing together a host of talented, entrepreneurial women in property is the aim of Edge Recruitment’s next ‘Fabulous Women in Property’ event taking place this year on Friday 15th April 2011 at The Adelaide Convention Centre.
Now in its sixth year, the Fabulous Women in Property lunch is set to be a stellar event for women in the property and real estate industries, benefiting a local hard working charity – Time for Kids.
The event’s guest speaker has been officially announced today as Erik Thomson, one of Australia’s most respected actors for film, television and theatre; currently starring in Australia’s top rating TV drama Packed to the Rafters.
Erik is a proud ambassador of this year’s charity – Time for Kids.
Time for Kids offers early intervention, respite care and support to disadvantaged South Australian families. Since 1960 Time for Kids has cared for and strengthened the lives of over 4500 children and their families.
“Time for Kids is not about digging into your pocket it’s about finding a place in your heart for children that need help. Spending time with kids is actually a simple way of connecting with the community and giving back at a grass roots level.” Says Erik Thomson.
“I was instantly inspired by the simplistic nature of Time for Kids and the way the charity addresses social issues that affect the whole community.” he says.
Jo Wickes, CEO of Time for Kids says “more and more South Australian families are struggling to cope with overwhelming social, health and economic difficulties, which leave children with limited stable support in their lives. The need for successful early intervention is greater than ever and we will be there to meet it working in partnership with the government, community and support from Edge Recruitment and Erik Thomson.”
Erik will talk candidly about his involvement with the charity, the ups and downs of being a father to a young family and his role as affable Dave Rafter in the hit series, Packed to the Rafters.
The event aims to meet an ambitious target raising funds for Time for Kids and organiser’s, Edge Recruitment have been ecstatic with the response received so far.
“The event is about taking time out from a busy schedule, networking with other property professionals and supporting a worthy cause” says Joanna Pinchbeck, Marketing Manager of Edge Recruitment.
“The interest we have received so far has been amazing and we are looking at a sell out crowd of over 300 women.” she says.
The event is proudly sponsored by Platinum Sponsor – Adelaide Airport Limited and Gold Sponsors – Terri Scheer Insurance, UniSA School of Commerce, Real Estate Institute of South Australia and Adelaide BMW.
Supported by our colleagues at the Property Council of Australia and the Urban Development Institute of Australia.
