Annual Giving

Every year, Time for Kids run an annual giving campaign in the lead-up to the end of the financial year. This campaign forms a critical component of our fundraising, and the support of our networks is fundamental to our capacity to maintain a high standard of care to the hundreds of children referred to us and their families.

At this time, we invite you to make a donation to Time for Kids. This is your chance to be a part of something bigger – to give a child the gift of a brighter future. As part of our thanks to you, there are many ways that we can acknowledge and give back to you, your name and your brand.

You can make a general donation or sign up for regular giving using the form below.

What does my gift mean for the children in Time for Kids programs?

Time for Kids 2019 annual giving is inspired by psychologist Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, which identifies a set of innate needs that, when met, ensure the best possible chance for success and optimal life outcomes – in our words, every chance for a bright future

Any gift, no matter how big or small, makes a very real difference in the support we are able to provide our children to ensure we can continue to meet these needs.

In addition to creating lasting change where it’s needed most, you can rest easy knowing that for every $1 you donate, you save the South Australian community a minimum of $15 in long-term economic savings by reducing the future demand on community services.

Read on to find out how your donation will support a Time for Kids family.

The gift of a bright future : Self-actualisation ($5,000 +)

At the very top of the Hierarchy of Needs pyramid is self-actualisation, the capacity of the person to engage in moral and creative thinking, problem solving, and acceptance – skills that support educational attainment and job prospects. Often opportunities for our kids to develop these skills are lacking in their home environment, and our volunteer carers provide the additional role model needed to support our kids to realise their full potential and achieve their aspirations, no matter what they are.

The gift of self-worth : Self-esteem ($1,000 – $4,999)

When opportunities are limited and life feels out of control all the time, it can be very disempowering and there can be serious negative effects on a child’s self-esteem and sense of worth in the world. Our volunteer carers provide our children with the encouragement and confidence they need to build resilience and learn valuable life skills.

The gift of opportunity : Love and belonging ($500 – $999)

The majority of our children experience significant isolation, many do not get to leave the house except to go to school because of the complex arrangements of their family home. Our core program of volunteer respite relationships gives our children critical opportunities to have the social experiences that so many of us take for granted, connecting them to the broader community within the context of a safe and loving respite relationship.

The gift of liberty : Safety ($100 – $499)

Sometimes more support is needed to ensure our kids are safe – and without a certain sense of safety, we can’t ever be free to pursue our aspirations. We work with our families to ensure they have access to appropriate health care and additional services such as financial counselling or interagency advocacy to maintain stability at home – so our children can experience life without taking on their parents’ concerns.

The gift of well-being : Physiological needs ($10 – $99)

At the very core of positive life outcomes, are our essential physical requirements: nutritious food and water, a roof over our heads, access to clean water to bathe, and a healthy sleeping routine. We work closely with our families to ensure our children’s basic needs are met, providing support for food or bedding when times are tough, and for essential utilities like water and electricity when there is a risk of disconnection in our families’ homes.
